Greynurse Shark (Carcharias taurus)

We counted over twenty grey nurse sharks at Broughton Island yesterday; all free of visible fishing gear injuries except one. Broughton Island is part of a large marine reserve with significant sanctuary zones. It's a big contrast with Fish Rock, which has only token protection, where 30-50% of grey nurse sharks have visible fishing gear injuries.
