Picture a Day May 19, 2011 - Texas Rose-Bellied Lizard (Sceloporus variabilis marmoratus) at Government Canyon

The Texas Rose-Bellied Lizard (Sceloporus variabilis marmoratus) is only found in the southern part of Texas, this one at Government Canyon Natural Area in northern Bexar County. Here is another one spotted earlier in the year at Medina River Natural Area.
