Distribution and habitat preferences

They are observable between November and April.

They can be found in far north Queensland from Cooktown down to the Paluma Range. Isolated populations also occur near Coen and at Iron Range.

They are widespread on the Atherton Tableland and the Carbine Tableland, including the Julatten area. They can also be found around Cape Tribulation and in the Mossman Gorge.
