Distribution and habitat preferences

It is one of several nudibranch species which are unique to Australian waters. It is endemic to the east coast, mostly NSW. The isolation of Australia, combined with coastal currents which run south on both sides of the continent, mean that species like this can evolve over time and are not transported around the world.
