Indo-Pacific: known from the Red Sea, Indian Ocean (except the Seychelles, Chagos Archipelago, Cargados Carajos, Mauritius and Rodrigues), north to Japan and south to Australia; throughout the West Pacific to the Tonga Islands, Samoa, Phoenix and Marshall Islands. (Fishbase)
